Darwin - The Project Location
Australia's dynamic northern city comes of age
Darwin
is different to any other city on earth - It hums with the industry and
vibrance one would expect from a capital, but at the same time can be as
laid back and relaxed as a tropical holiday resort. Virtually rebuilt in
1975 after cyclone Tracy, Darwin is young, modern, cosmopolitan and tropical.
Darwin is wide streets and shady parks, a pedestrian mall,
sophisticated restaurants and clubs, colourful outdoor Asian markets, marinas.
The roads and infrastructure is new and well-maintained, it has an International
airport, a new railway terminal and a new port.
Darwin reflects and celebrates dozens of cultures reflected in its many festivals, markets and restaurants. In fact, the city is a shining example of how people from diverse backgrounds can live happily alongside one another.
With a young population, vast natural resources and major projects currently underway, the future for Darwin is very bright.
